What are the symptoms of Genital Warts?

The virus that causes genital warts is called HPV (human papillomavirus). It is possible for an individual to be infected with HPV and to transmit the virus without ever showing any symptoms. The most common symptoms are the appearance of warts in and around the genital region. Genital warts can cause complications such as blockage of the urinary tract and a higher incidence of genital cancers.

What is the treatment for Genital Warts?

Although there is no cure for HPV, it is possible to manage the infection by treating the outbreak of warts. Sometimes visible warts can be removed by surgery, chemicals, or freezing. Topical creams are also available. It is important to remember that even after treatment of genital warts, reoccurrence is common and transmission is possible.
